Marketplace Solutions and Across Borders have just partnered to create the first Micro Business investment in Juarez, Mexico for a new prison transition program. This investment only cost us $600.00 to fund. It will employ four men in making mops, the materials needed and room to grow into the future. Our partners in Juarez are part of the International Transformation Network - ITN, Poncho Murguia and Alex Noriega. Below is a follow up note from Alex regarding this first phase.
I have in my office Hector who is the responsible person for the mop factory, he is so exited about the project and thankful for the support received from your organization. We already have the business guy that will train and support Hector on the journey to manage the factory as productive as the Lord will require.
A brief testimony from Hector is as follows:
He got into prison after a murder committed and during the time inside jail, he was involve in gangs and start selling and using drugs. He was controlling the drugs, and the cash flow coming from the drugs for two years. After that time he became so dangerous that the authorities of the prison sent him to a maximum security area where he started listening to the Gospel. After 4 months of being involved with the people that love Jesus he decided to turn his life over to Him. Then the change in his life started the fruits of the Spirit and that behavior change gave him the opportunity to return to the normal prison where he started preaching the word of God to other interns and his ministry started there.
Once he committed to serve the Lord, all he has to offer it was his previous experience making mops and with that the dream of a Kingdom company came to his heart.
I would like to mention that he was sentenced to 7.5 years with out early release benefit due to the behavior showed the first two years but the Lord is so great that He changed and Hector was released in 5 years.
Now that he is out, about 1.5 years he has been working on the plans for the factory, the first machine is ready to start operations and best of all is that he has 9 month since his marriage with a Pastor’s daughter.
He is planning to produce with one machine up to 500 mops per day that will employ 4 ex-prisoners to sell but the rump-up for this will take almost two month, his dream is to be able to have 4 to 5 machines to produced enough to export to USA and to sell to the big supermarkets here in town.
Also the label of the mops will be designed in such way that will have a Biblical message or a verse but the want to show the blessings of God as the Master of this Kingdom Company.
Distributed as follows: 51% for the ministry. And the balance we are praying for direction on how to apply those funds, so we are open for suggestions.
Pat this is just a brief description but we still planning the best way to do it.
I hope the helps you a little to understand what we are doing here.
God Bless,
Alex
